Mairwa (Siwan): The 14th Hockey Bihar Sub Junior Boys State Championship 2024, organised by Hockey Siwan at the Adarsh Government Middle School and Hariram High School in Mairwa, witnessed exciting quarter-final clashes on the third day of the tournament.
In the first quarter-final, Muzaffarpur outclassed Khagaria with a 2-0 victory, securing their place in the semi-finals. Amarendra Kumar Singh scored the opening goal in the 12th minute, with Deepu Vishwakarma doubling the lead in the 32nd minute.
The second quarter-final was a thrilling contest, as Saharsa edged past Siwan 2-1. Siwan’s Vikas Ram gave his team the lead in the 49th minute, but Saharsa fought back with Aditya Raj equalising in the 53rd minute. In the dying moments of the match, Sonu Kumar netted the winner, taking Saharsa into the semi-finals.
In the third quarter-final, Bhojpur secured a narrow 1-0 win over Buxar. Prince Kumar scored the decisive goal in the second minute, ensuring Bhojpur’s progression to the next stage.
The semi-final line-up will feature Muzaffarpur against Bhojpur, while Saharsa will face Patna in the second semi-final.
