Begusarai: Muzaffarpur defeated Khagaria by 8 wickets in the Randhir Verma Under-19 Cricket Tournament’s Central Zone match organized by Bihar Cricket Association on Friday.
In the match played at the local Barauni Fertilizer ground, Khagaria won the toss and decided to bat first. In the scheduled 50 over match, Khagaria scored 143 runs after losing all the wickets in 36 overs. Deepesh Chandra played an inning of 40 runs for Khagaria.
For Muzaffarpur, Aryan took 4 wickets, Shubham took 3 wickets and Vasudev took 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, Muzaffarpur team scored 147 runs losing only 2 wickets in 29 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. For Muzaffarpur, Rishav Raj scored 51 runs, Aditya Sinha scored 44 runs and Kush Dev scored 40 unbeaten runs. Sarik took 1 wicket for Khagaria.
The Man of the Match award was jointly given to Aryan of Muzaffarpur by Mrityunjay Kumar Veeresh, President of Begusarai District Cricket Association Ad-hoc Committee and Chief Patron of BPL Niranjan Kumar Singh.
