Patna: In a commanding performance, Muzaffarpur triumphed over Patna with a 4-0 victory in the final match of the 14th Hockey Bihar State Level Junior Tournament, held at Dung Dung Stadium, BRC Danpur. Shobhit Raj was instrumental in Muzaffarpur’s success, scoring two back-to-back goals in the ninth and 38th minutes—first through a penalty corner and then with a field goal. Akash Yadav further solidified the lead with a goal in the 44th minute, and Amarendra Kumar sealed the victory with a final goal in the 55th minute.
Muzaffarpur’s goalkeeper, Ratan Kumar, was awarded Man of the Match for his outstanding performance, while Patna’s Ashish Ranjan received the honour of Man of the Tournament.
The event was graced by Lieutenant Colonel BP Rao of BRC Danpur, who attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included senior journalist Issuddin, veteran athletic player Chunchun, and international football players Pritam Bahadur, Subhash Jha, Narendra Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Minnie Kumari, and Shailendra Dixit.
