Mumbai Crushes Bihar by an Innings and 226 Runs in CK Nayudu Trophy U-23 Clash

Patna: In the CK Nayudu Trophy Under-23 tournament, a thrilling match between Bihar and Mumbai unfolded at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, Kandivali, Mumbai. Bihar suffered a heavy defeat as Mumbai triumphed by an innings and 226 runs.

Batting first, Bihar managed to score 264 runs in 63.1 overs. Deepak showcased resilience with a commendable knock of 75 runs, while Suraj Kashyap contributed 53 runs. Ankit Rai added 38, and Suraj Vijay chipped in with 35 runs to bolster the team’s total. However, the lower-order batsmen failed to capitalise, and the team was dismissed for 264.

Mumbai’s bowlers were in fine form, with Dhanit Raut and Atharva Bhosale taking four wickets each. Suryansh and Himanshu Singh added one wicket apiece to restrict Bihar’s innings.

In response, Mumbai dominated with the bat, amassing a mammoth 672 runs for 9 wickets in 128.5 overs. Pragnesh Kampillewar led the charge with a sensational 217 runs, supported by centuries from Manan Bhat (105) and Suryansh Shedge (100). Other key contributions included Ayush Mathre (52), Ayush Sachin Vartak (54), and captain Vedant Murkar (42).

For Bihar, Manish Kumar claimed 4 wickets, Suraj Kashyap picked up 3, and Suraj Vijay secured 2 wickets, but their efforts were not enough to contain Mumbai’s batting onslaught.

In their second innings, Bihar managed only 182 runs in 45 overs. Prashant Kumar top-scored with 64, while Shashank Upadhyay added 50. Ankit Raj contributed 29, but the rest of the batting line-up faltered.

Mumbai’s bowlers were once again dominant, with Atharva Bhosale claiming 4 wickets, Himanshu Singh taking 3, Suryansh Shedge grabbing 2, and Dhanit Raut adding one to his tally.

Mumbai’s comprehensive performance secured a commanding victory, highlighting their dominance in the tournament.
