Patna: Mukesh Kumar Singh of Samastipur won the men’s 60 age group final of Hundred Bihar State Masters Badminton Championship defeating Niraj Kumar of Patna 16-21 21-14 21-15 in Sasaram on Sunday.
MD 40 Final The pair of Anuj Kumar Singh and Ritesh Ranjan (both Patna) beat the pair of Arshad Khan and Sushil Kumar Verma (both Patna) 21-13 21-15 to win men’s doubles 40 age group title.
MD 35 Final The combination of Rupesh Kumar Verma and Sudhir Kumar Singh (Rohtash/Patna) beat the duo of Sandeep and Shailesh Kumar (both Patna) 21-13 21-14 to win the men’s doubles 35 age group title.
In the men’s singles 45 final Nimish Kumar Singh (Patna) beat Pramod Kumar of Patna 21-15 Ret to claim the title.
In the men’s singles 50 final Sanjeev Kumar Singh (Patna) beat Randhir Kumar Singh of Khagaria 21-15 16-21 21-18 to clinch the honours.
In the men’s singles 40 final Ajay Kumar (Patna) beat Prashant Kumar Chandra of Munger 21-11 19-21 21-14 to bag the title.
In the men’s doubles 45 final the pair of Nimish Kumar Singh and Shafaq Nawab Khan (Patna) beat the pair of Narendra Kumar and Pramod Kumar (Rohtash/Patna) 21-13 21-10 to claim the crown.
In the men’s doubles 50 final, the combination of Sanjeev Kumar Singh and Suraj Prakash Sinha (both Patna) beat the pair of Abhishek Kumar and Tarun Kr. Nayak (both Patna) 21-18 21-19 to annex the title.
In the men’s singles 35 Vimal Vivek of Patna claimed the title as his opponent Kumar Sandeep of Patna retired when Vimal was leading 7-5 in the first set.
After the final matches, Bihar Badminton Association secretary KN Jaiswal and other dignitaries gave away the prizes.
