Mountaineer Lakshmi Jha of Bihar sets out for Mount Kilimanjaro expedition

Patna: Lakshmi Jha, a mountaineer from Bihar, will hoist the tricolour on the world’s 4th-highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, in South Africa. Former MP RK Sinha flagged off her expedition in Patna on Thursday. Lakshmi Jha, a resident of Bangaon in Bihar’s Saharsa district, will climb the 19341-foot peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in South Africa on March 8 (Women’s Day).

Before leaving for the expedition, Laxmi said that when she did not get cooperation from several ministries of the Bihar government, she lost courage. She started feeling that her dream would never be fulfilled, but then she got the support of former BJP MP RK Sinha, and her dreams took flight.

On Thursday, with the blessings of RK Sinha, she set out for the campaign. First she will reach Mumbai, and then from there she will reach Kilimanjaro Airport in South Africa. The expedition will start on March 7, and on March 8, she will climb the world’s fourth highest peak and set a record.

Former MP RK Sinha said that he himself is bearing the expenses of Lakshmi’s expedition and training. He said that I knew her talent before Lakshmi reached the base camp of Mount Everest. It was also announced that we would provide all possible assistance to her for the expedition.

“It has been my endeavour that no talent gets frustrated due to a lack of money. They should get an opportunity to do something in life with respect, it is the responsibility of the people of Bihar, and the government, but if there is no way out, then they should come to me. I help them in every possible way,” he said.

Sinha said that Avasar Trust is a dedicated institution for education, and students from here are also appearing in examinations like IIT and UPSC after studying free of cost and bringing laurels to their state.
