Masaurhi ready to host Bihar Women’s Kho-Kho Premier League

Patna: Under the aegis of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, all the preparations have been completed for the Bihar Women’s Kho-Kho Premier League to be held on Thursday (June 8) at the St. Mary’s School premises in Masaurhi.

Giving this information, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, General Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, said that players have started arriving. The accommodation and food for the players have been arranged on the school premises itself.

He said that the entire school campus has been decorated for the tournament. Apart from this, banners have been put up at the square intersections of the city.

Neeraj said that a total of eight teams are participating in this competition. The team was formed through selection trials. Matches will be played on mats. A total of 35 technical officials have been appointed to conduct the matches. All teams will play matches against each other. The top four will reach the semi-finals.

Kho-Kho Federation of India secretary MS Tyagi will be the chief guest on the occasion of the inauguration of the league. On this occasion, Sanjay Kumar (SHO Masaurhi PS), Santosh Kumar (Manager, Punjab National Bank, Masaurhi) will be present as guests of honour. The function will be presided over by the principal of the school, Father Packiyam Baskar V.

He said that this league will act as a link to increase the interest of girls and women players in Kho-Kho in Bihar. He said that this league will speed up the development of women’s kho-kho in Bihar. He said that through this league, talented players will be selected who will be given priority on the Bihar team in the upcoming national tournaments.
