Bhagalpur: Life and death it is well said is matter of providence. Had it been otherwise a man somehow stuck under wagon of a moving goods train could not have been alive. Though it may sound unbelievable however this is a fact the man stuck under wagon is safe and unhurt.
Thanks to alertness of Sonu Kumar, railway points man, the man could be rescued safely. Kumar posted at Mirzchowki station located in Kiul-Sahebganj loop section of Eastern Railway, while on duty yesterday at Mirzachowki gate saw hands of man dangling under wagon of a passing goods train.
The alert points man immediately contacted concerned railway personnel for stopping the train. The train was stopped on his request and subsequently the man stuck under wagon found unhurt was rescued safely by railway workers. The stone laden goods train as per information had left Mirzachowki station at around 1.15 PM in afternoon.
Roopa Mondol, Public Relation Assistant (PRA), Malda division of Eastern Railway, contacted by view19.in confirmed the incident. She said the goods train was on way to Gour from Mirzachowki.
Informing it is not clear how the man got stuck under wagon PRA said following his rescue it was found he is not mentally stable. It is suspected he was also in slightly inebriated condition, she added. PRA confirmed the man found safe under wagon was rescued unhurt.
She added acknowledging alertness of points man that helped save life of concerned person decision has been taken for rewarding Sonu Kumar by divisional railway authorities.
