Patna: Maharashtra scored 437 for four wickets in their first innings at the end of the second day’s play of the four-day Col CK Nayudu Trophy match against Bihar at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune on Monday. With this, Maharashtra took a lead of 241 runs with six wickets still in hand and put themselves in an invincible position.
Resuming the day at 51 for 2, two batsmen from Maharashtra hit centuries on the second day. Captain HA Kate played an unbeaten knock of 169 runs off 238 balls with 20 boundaries and three sixes.
Kate was also involved in two century-long partnerships. In the first partnership, Kate and Yash Kshirsagar added 131 runs for the third wicket. The partnership was broken when Yash Kshirsagar was caught by Shashank Upadhyay off a Paramjeet Singh delivery, scoring 55 runs. After that, combining with Digvijay Patil, Kate added 166 runs for the fourth wicket. Digvijay Patil also hit a century (135) off 182 balls with 13 boundaries and one six.
