Maharashtra humble Bihar by 261 runs in Women’s Under-15 Trophy

Patna: Bihar who started their campaign with a win against Sikkim, had to suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of Maharashtra in the second match of the Women’s Under-15 Trophy Cricket Tournament.

From bowling to batting, Maharashtra players had the upper hand over Bihar. Bihar’s bowlers could not take even a single wicket, and no batsman could touch double figures, and ultimately, Maharashtra defeated Bihar by a huge margin of 261 runs.

In this match played at Chaudhary Banshi Lal Cricket Stadium in Haryana, Maharashtra won the toss and decided to bat first.

With the help of brilliant centuries from Arya Ump (106 runs not out) and Suhani Kahandal (108 runs not out), Maharashtra scored 295 runs for 1 wicket in 35 overs. Amani Nandlal scored 44 runs and was run out.

In reply, Bihar were all out for 34 runs in 17 overs. 15 runs were scored with the help of extras. Taapsee scored the most runs for Bihar. Taapsee played an inning of 9 runs. Apart from this, Sneha Prakash scored 3 runs, Prachi Singh scored 1, Sakshi Thakur scored 1, Prachi Kumari scored 2, Siddhi Kumari scored 3 runs.

For Maharashtra, Girisha Kataria took 5 wickets for 12 runs, Nikita Singh took 2 wickets for 9 runs, Avanti Tupe took 2 wickets for 4 runs, Suhani Kahandal took 1 wicket for 5 runs. Bihar’s next match will be against Tamil Nadu on November 21.
