Madhya Pradesh Defeat Bihar by 63 Runs in Senior Women’s T20 Trophy

Patna: In Saturday’s Senior Women’s T20 Trophy match, Madhya Pradesh defeated Bihar by 63 runs, marking Bihar’s third consecutive loss following two earlier victories. Madhya Pradesh now leads Group E with 22 points from six matches, while Bihar ranks fifth with 8 points from five matches. Bihar will face Punjab in their final group match on 28 October.

The match, held at the KCA Cricket Ground in Mangalapuram, Trivandrum, saw Madhya Pradesh opting to bat first after winning the toss. They set an impressive target, scoring 167 for four in their allotted 20 overs. Jinsi George contributed 49 off 45 balls, hitting seven fours, while PN Khemnar added 31 from 26 balls with three fours and one six. Pooja Vastrakar provided further momentum, scoring 47 runs off 23 balls with five fours and three sixes, and Sanskriti Gupta remained unbeaten on 20.

For Bihar, Tejaswi took 1 for 36, Apoorva Kumari 1 for 21, and Pragati Singh 1 for 25, with one run-out adding to the tally.

In reply, Bihar could only manage 100 for four in 20 overs. Apoorva Kumari scored 25 off 35 balls, hitting three fours and one six, while Yashita Singh contributed 32 off 43 balls, including one four and one six. Pragati Singh scored 17 off 16 balls, and Niktya Kumari and Arya Seth remained unbeaten on 5 and 2 runs, respectively.

Madhya Pradesh’s bowling attack was led by Priyanka, who took 2 for 21, with Suchi Upadhyay and PN Khemnar claiming one wicket each for 26 and 16 runs, respectively.
