Madhya Pradesh beat Bihar by seven wickets in BCCI Senior Women’s  T20 Trophy

Patna: Bihar senior women cricket team lost to Madhya Pradesh by seven wickets in their opening match of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at at Amingaon Cricket Ground in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Now, Bihar will clash with Railways in the second match of the group tomorrow.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh won the toss and invited Bihar to bat first. Batting first, Bihar scored 91 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Bihar, Nikki Kumari 4, Preeti 28, captain Apoorva Kumari 12, Vishalakshi 12, Komal P Kumari 15, Pragati Singh 1, Apoorva 3, Preeti Priya 3 and  Rachna Singh 9 not out were the main contributors. Extras added four runs.

For Madhya Pradesh, Poonam Soni took 3 wickets for 7 runs, M Gawade claimed one wicket for 22 runs, Anushka Sharma bagged 1 for 13 and Saloni Dongre took 1 for 12.

In reply, despite a poor start, Madhya Pradesh scored 95 for the loss of three wickets in 17.1 overs with the help of Anushka Sharma’s 32 not out, Tamanna Nigam 26 and Preeti Yadav’s 30 not out. For Bihar, Apoorva (1/11), Preeti Priya (1/16) and Preeti Kumari (1/19) were the wicket takers.
