Patna: Learning School of Cricket won the boys and girls’ titles of Lalan Babu Memorial Sadbhavna Cup cricket tournament held at Urja Stadium here on Saturday. The tournament was organised under the aegis of Lalan Babu Foundation.
In the final of the boys’ section, Learning School of Cricket defeated Vaishnavi Enterprises by three wickets, while in the final of the women’s section; Learning School of Cricket defeated Shriram Khel Maidan by 26 runs.
Vaishnavi Enterprises won the toss and batting first scored 103 runs in 21.3 overs with the help of Ankit’s 58 runs. In reply, Learning School of Cricket scored 104 runs for seven wickets in 16.2 overs.
In the women’s cricket match, Learning School of Cricket won the toss and batting first scored 141 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. Yashita Singh and Shruti Gupta scored half-centuries. In response, the team of Shri Ram Khel Maidan was all out for 115 runs in 18.5 overs.
The match was inaugurated in the morning jointly by Patna Mayor’s candidate Mala Sinha and Raman Construction Pvt Ltd’s Managing Director Sitesh Raman.
Bihar Players Association President Mrityunjay Tiwari, senior cricketer Saurabh Chakraborty, Rajesh Kumar, Rajmani, social worker Shalini Rana, BJP leader Sumit Sharma, umpire Ashish Sinha gave away the prizes. Lalan Babu’s son Raj Shekhar, Shashi Shekhar and Ravi Shekhar welcomed the guests. Organising secretary Santosh Tiwari proposed vote of thanks.
In the boys’ section, best batsman award went to Ankit ji, best bowler award went tp Satyam, best wicketkeeper award went to Vineet and best fielder award went to Karan.
In the women’s section, Yashita Singh got the best batter award, Soni bagged the best bowler award, best wicketkeeper award went to Nikki while best fielder award went to Swarnima Chakraborty.
Umpires, scorers, commentators, ground staff were specially honored on this occasion. The award winners included Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, Rajesh Ranjan, Mrityunjay Jha, Baijnath Prasad, Priyanshu Kumar, Raja Kumar, Shubham Kumar, Raju Prasad, Raju Sahni, Raju Kumar, Monu Kumar Rawat, Veer Dhirendra, Rekha Devi, Chano Devi, Sundari Devi, Sanju Devi and Suman Devi.
