Learning School of Cricket Enter Semi-Final of Shailendra Kumar Memorial Under-15 Tournament

Patna: In the Shailendra Kumar Memorial Under-15 Inter-School Cricket Tournament, held in honour of the late senior sports journalist Shailendra Kumar at the Krishna Cricket Ground (Khemnichak), Learning School of Cricket triumphed in their quarter-final match on Wednesday, March 5, securing their place in the semi-finals. The tournament, sponsored by Casa Picolla Restaurant, also saw State Coaching Centre advance to the quarterfinals. Learning Cricket Academy defeated Sudarshan XI by 126 runs, while State Coaching Centre claimed victory over YCC by 9 wickets.

The first match featured Learning School of Cricket against Sudarshan XI. Sudarshan XI won the toss and elected to field, inviting Learning to bat first. Learning School posted a total of 193 runs before being bowled out in 21 overs, thanks to notable contributions from Ujjwal (41 runs) and Aman (33 runs). Kanha was the standout bowler for Sudarshan XI, taking three wickets.

In response, Sudarshan XI struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for just 67 runs in 19.5 overs. Ronik (22 runs) and Rajnish (14 runs) were the only batsmen to reach double figures. Vinay Kumar of Learning School was awarded the Player of the Match by senior cricket coach MP Verma for his impressive bowling figures of 3/13.

The second match saw YCC take on State Coaching Centre. YCC won the toss and chose to bat first but were dismissed for 60 runs in 20 overs, with Anurag (18 runs) and Ashish (12 runs) offering some resistance. State Coaching Centre chased down the target comfortably, losing just one wicket in 8.1 overs. Arsh (33 runs) and Gopal (12 runs) guided their team to victory. Priyanshu Kumar of State Coaching Centre was named Player of the Match by organising secretary Naveen Kumar for his all-round performance.
