Patna: The Kusumraj Maniam Gold Cup Under-17 Inter School Cricket Tournament will begin at Patna’s Sanjay Gandhi Stadium on March 1 under the auspices of the Dr Rajdev Sharma Memorial Trust, according to the trust’s chairman, Dr Amarendra Kumar Amresh.
Only 12 teams will be given entry in this tournament, which is being organised with the technical support of the Sardar Patel Sports Foundation. All the matches will be played on a knockout basis of 25-25 overs each.
Organising secretary Santosh Tiwari said that the winning and runner-up teams will be awarded many attractive prizes, including the glittering trophies, man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder, and best wicketkeeper.
He said that two matches would be conducted daily under the supervision of renowned umpires. It is mandatory for the player to bring an Aadhaar card for age verification or a certificate issued by a municipal corporation during the match.
