Patna: Kumar Harshit of Patna achieved a remarkable feat by clinching three titles in the Ravindra Narayan Singh Memorial 70th Bihar State Inter-District Table Tennis Championship, held on Wednesday, 25th December, at Sports Bhawan, Saharsa. Harshit emerged victorious in men’s singles, men’s doubles, and boys’ under-19 singles categories.
Riyanshi Gupta and Kavish Sahu also showcased stellar performances, securing double titles each. Riyanshi won the women’s singles and doubles titles, while Kavish claimed the boys’ under-17 singles and men’s doubles titles.
In the women’s singles category, Kumari Ananya of Patna was the runner-up, with Bagisha Singh and Mahi Gupta finishing in third place. In the men’s singles, Mohit Jha of Patna was the runner-up, while Ankit Kumar and Piyush D Gandhi secured third place.
Riyanshi Gupta teamed up with Falguni Mukherjee to win the women’s doubles title, defeating the pair of Nandini and Mahi Gupta. In the men’s doubles, Kumar Harshit and Kavish Sahu triumphed, with Mohit Jha and Ankit finishing as runners-up.
The championship concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Dr Alok Ranjan, the chief guest, presented the awards and emphasised his commitment to promoting sports in Saharsa. Kunal Kumar Singh, India Youth Table Tennis Team coach and special guest, pledged his support to further the development of table tennis in the region.
Roshan Singh Dhoni, Secretary of the District Table Tennis Association, assured attendees of even better events in the future during the ceremony.
