Patna: On the occasion of National Sports Day, the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar has made a significant move to promote the sport of Kho-Kho in the state. Kho-Kho clubs, academies, and institutional teams will now have direct entry into any sports event organised by the association.
Announcing the initiative, the secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu, stated that while there will be certain rules and conditions for direct entry, teams that comply will effectively become units of the association.
He emphasised that this initiative will help uncover hidden talents and increase the number of competitions. Additionally, he noted that in districts where player participation has been low, this move is expected to boost involvement.
Pappu also highlighted that, in celebration of National Sports Day, the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar successfully organised one-day tournaments across various districts with the support of district associations, witnessing substantial participation from emerging players.
He further announced that the dates for the second edition of the Women’s and Men’s Kho-Kho League would be revealed soon. Additionally, the hosting rights for this year’s Khelo India Women’s League have been awarded to the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, with preparations already underway. Numerous selection trials and training camps will also be organised for participation in national competitions.
