Khelo India Sepak Takraw Small Centre inaugurated in Patna

Patna: Under the Khelo India scheme, the Khelo India Sepak Takraw Small Centre was inaugurated in Patna by Bihar State Sports Authority director general Raveendran Sankaran at Patliputra Sports Complex, Kankarbagh here on Tuesday.

Encouraging the trainees in his address, Sankaran said that you all have been selected for this special scheme and game, which is not only different from other games but also requires special physical abilities. He said that recently, Sepak Takraw players have brought glory to the state at the national and international level, and the game is becoming increasingly popular in the state.

He not only encouraged the players selected for the centre for training but also talked about the future of the game and their career in it.

Khelo India Sepak Takraw Small Centre, operated in Patna under the Sports Authority of India and Bihar State Sports Authority, is a completely non-residential free training centre. In this centre, 18 boys and 12 girls below 14 years of age from Patna district have been selected.

Bihar State Sports Authority director-cum-secretary Pankaj Kumar Raj was present as a special guest at the inaugural function. The guests were welcomed by the district sports officer, Patna Om Prakash, while the programme was conducted by Abhishek Kumar.
