Khelo India Junior and Sub-Junior Women’s Kho-Kho League Off to a Colourful Start

Arjun Award winning Indian women’s Kho-Kho team captain Nasreen Shaikh inaugurates the event

Patna: The Khelo India Junior and Sub Junior East and North East Zone Women’s Kho-Kho League, hosted by the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar in collaboration with the Union Sports Ministry and Sports Authority of India under the banner of the Kho Kho Federation of India, was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Sky Vision Public School, Lakhisarai. The tournament was inaugurated by the captain of the Indian women’s Kho-Kho team, Arjun awardee Nasreen Shaikh, Nasreen’s father, Md Gafur Shaikh, school secretary Sabita Sharma, school director Bablu Sharma, Kho-Kho Association of Bihar secretary Neeraj Kumar, school principal Neeraj Kumar, Executive President of Human Rights Protection India (Bihar) Ganesh Kumar, Secretary of Human Rights Protection India (Bihar) Amarjeet Devgan, Khelo India Bihar Supervisors Someshwar Rao and Manish Jaiswal, and Kho-Kho Association of Jharkhand Secretary Santosh Kumar by lighting the lamp.

While giving a message to the players and schoolchildren in her inaugural address, Nasreen Shaikh said that to be successful in your life, you need to have patience. Additionally, achieving any kind of goal requires determination and honest work. You have to set a target. If you pay attention to all these things, then success will kiss your feet.

She said that you all are the future of the country. She told everyone to take up some sport or another in life. She said that sports not only lead to physical development but also mental development. She told the parents present at the event to encourage their children to take up sports. Along with studies, sports are also important.

Before this, the sub-junior and junior teams of Assam, Bihar, Bengal and Jharkhand took the march past and saluted the guests. In the cultural programme organised after the march past, the students of Sky Vision School mesmerised everyone by presenting aerobic dance and forcing them to applaud.

Arjuna Awardee Nasreen Shaikh was honoured by the school management and the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar. On this occasion, Nasreen Sheikh’s father, Mohd Ghafur Sheikh and other guests were honoured with mementos.

School Secretary Sabita Sharma said in her address that it is a matter of pride for us that such a big event is being organised on our school premises, which our children will definitely take advantage of.

School Director Bablu Sharma said that the entire Lakhisarai district is proud today. We, the residents of Lakhisarai district, extend a hearty welcome to all of you. We will take care of your every facility, and all of you will go as ambassadors of our state and district and sing our praises.

School principal Neeraj Kumar said that we all should learn from Nasreen Shaikh. He said that Nasreen Shaikh has achieved this position by working very hard. He said that Kho-Kho is our traditional game, and we are all feeling proud to organise it.

Expressing his gratitude, Secretary of Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, Neeraj Kumar Pappu thanked Sky Vision School for supporting this event. He also thanked Nasreen Shaikh and said that your presence has added to the splendor of this tournament.
