Patna, July 14: With the advent of Sawan (Shravan) month, Kanwariyas from Patna and other parts of the state have started their journey for Bidyanath Dham to offer holy Ganga water to Lord Shiva. A large number of kanwariyas assembled at Patna Junction to catch the earliest train for Sultanganj. From Sultanganj, they will collect holy Ganga water from the River Ganga and start their foot march to Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) keeping kanwar on their shoulder.
Today was the first day of Sawan month. Huge crowd of kanwariyas were witnessed at the Patna Junction railway station through out the day.
