Bhabhua, April 30: Kaimur defeated Buxar by 8 wickets in a match of Pool C of the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament hosted by Kaimur District Cricket Association under the banner of Bihar Cricket Association. With this victory, Kaimur became the group champion of Pool C. Bhojpur team stood second and Aurangabad team stood third. Rohtas remained at fourth position. Buxar had not won any match in this group.
In the match played at the local Jagjivan Stadium, Buxar won the toss and decided to bat first. After winning the toss and batting first, Buxar team scored only 117 runs after losing all the wickets in 24.5 overs. Nikhil Katyan scored 50 runs in 45 balls while scoring a brilliant half-century. Brajesh Yadav scored 21 runs in 45 balls, Sonu Awasthi scored 11 runs in 21 balls and Abhishek Ojha scored 10 runs in 6 balls.
For Kaimur, Dewan Danish Khan took 4 wickets for 16 runs, Vikas Patel took 4 wickets for 24 runs and Nishant Singh took 1 wicket for 27 runs.
