Kaimur emerge champs in Hiralal Memorial Wrestling

Patna: Kaimur emerged overall champions with seven gold medals in the Hiralal Rai Memorial State-Level Senior Wrestling Championships in Chapra on Sunday.

Patna became the runners-up with three gold medals while Begusarai stood third with two gold medals.

The prizes were given away jointly by Chief Guest and Bihar Minister of Art, Culture, and Youth Department Jitendra Rai and General Secretary of the Bihar Wrestling Association Vinay Kumar Singh. In his address, minister Jitendra Rai said that the Eklavya Centre for Wrestling will be opened in Chapra.

In the closing ceremony, Dr Suresh Prasad, secretary, Bihar Weightlifting Association, organising committee president Piku Rais, organising secretary Vikas Kumar,  Chhapra District Wrestling Association, Organizing Secretary, Vikas Kumar, chief referee Vivek Bhardwaj, Bihar Wrestling Association’s office secretary, Vijay Kumar Viveka, wrestler Nagendra Rai, Sandeep Kumar Rai Amarjeet Kumar Vakil Rai and Munna Mistry were present on the occasion. The show was conducted by Pankaj Kashyap of the Chapra District Kabaddi Association.
