Junior World Cup kabaddi hero Sagar Kumar to be accorded grand welcome on his return home

Patna: Indian Kabaddi team won the Junior Kabaddi World Cup by defeating the hosts Iran of 41-33. Bihar’s Sagar Kumar led India to victory by playing a brilliant game in this tournament.

The Indian team that won the gold medal included Sagar Kumar as a main player. Bihar player Sagar is a native of Rupas Maruahi village in Bakhtiyarpur block of Patna district. Sagar is returning home on Tuesday.

Giving this information, Bihar State Kabaddi Association Secretary Kumar Vijay Singh said that Sagar Kumar will land at Patna airport at 4 pm on Tuesday. Vigorous preparations have been made to welcome him. Many kabaddi lovers, including Bihar State Kabaddi Association office-bearers, Bihar State Sports Authority Director General Raveendran Shankaran, will be present at the airport to receive Sagar.

He said that from Patna he would directly go to his village, Rupas Maruahi. There is an atmosphere of celebration in his village Maruahi and several preparations have been made there to welcome him. A welcome rally will also be held. People from Maruahi will reach Jagdamba place to welcome Sagar Kumar.

This was the second edition of the Junior World Cup in Iran, and the Indian team had participated for the first time.
