JP Ganga Path to Revolutionise Patna’s Traffic Flow with New Connectivity by March

Patna: JP Ganga Path connectivity will be established on 18.54 acres of railway land in the Patna Ghat area. The construction of this new road is set to significantly improve the traffic system in the Patna City area. JP Ganga Path, a major infrastructure project in Patna, is expected to be completed up to Didarganj by March this year.

Upon completion, JP Ganga Path will provide seamless connectivity between the eastern and western parts of Patna, reducing traffic congestion and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. The 18.54 acres of railway land at Patna Ghat will be utilised for this connectivity project.

The initiative aims to link JP Ganga Path to Patna Sahib Railway Station. The construction of this road was previously proposed and has now received approval from the Railway Board.

As part of the project, the Bihar government has proposed to allocate 4.80 acres of land near Veer Kunwar Singh Park to the railways. Additionally, the state government will provide Rs 98.24 crore to the railways.

This land exchange is also crucial for the expansion of the Danapur-Bihta elevated road, which will be mutually beneficial for both parties.

Approximately 85% of the construction work for JP Ganga Path connectivity has already been completed. The remaining work awaited the allocation of railway land to build a road from Patna Ghat to Patna Sahib station. Construction will commence as soon as the No Objection Certificate (NOC) is received.

The new road will span 1.55 kilometres and will be developed similarly to Atal Path, featuring no U-turns. This development is expected to improve the traffic system in the Patna City area, enabling local residents to travel without congestion. The route will not only alleviate traffic but also enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal.

Officials from the Road Construction Department and Railways have sent a letter to the Patna District Administration for land measurement. District Magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh has formed a team, led by the Additional Collector Revenue, to carry out the land measurement. According to officials, the measurement process has begun and will continue over the next two days.

The construction of this new road is poised to transform Patna’s traffic system, providing residents with a smoother and more efficient travel experience while contributing to the city’s visual charm.
