Patna: In the Cooch Behar Trophy match at Moinul Haq Stadium, Patna, Jharkhand secured a slender first-innings lead after being bowled out for 189 in reply to Bihar’s total of 154. By the close of play on the second day, Bihar were battling at 80 for five in their second innings.
Resuming their first innings at 56 for two, Jharkhand’s batting faltered against Bihar’s disciplined bowling, led by Aditya Raj, who claimed five wickets. Krish Sharma top-scored for Jharkhand with a resilient 74, while Sentu Yadav contributed 40 and Ayush Kumar added 33. However, five of their batters, including key players Ryan Sapkota, Rohit, Tanish, Vatsal, and Gaurav, were dismissed without scoring. Ishan Om remained unbeaten on eight runs. Satyam Kumar and Suman Kumar supported Bihar’s bowling effort with two and one wickets, respectively.
In their second innings, Bihar struggled against Jharkhand’s bowling attack, with Ishan Om taking four wickets and Tanish chipping in with one. Ayush Raj and Anubhav Singh contributed 13 and 17 runs, respectively, while Dipesh Gupta remained unbeaten on 20 at stumps, partnered by Gautam Kumar on three.
The match remains evenly poised heading into day three, with Bihar aiming to set a challenging target for Jharkhand.
