Ranchi: Jharkhand took a commanding 290-run first-innings lead over Bihar with four wickets in hand at the end of the second day of the four-day CK Nayudu Trophy Under-23 Tournament at JSCA Stadium, Ranchi, on Sunday. Jharkhand finished the day at 487 for six in their first innings.
Bihar had earlier posted 197 runs in their first innings. Rajandeep was the standout performer for Jharkhand, scoring a magnificent 149 runs. Other key contributions came from Shikhar Mohan (72), Robin Minj (35), and Aryan Hooda (30). At the close of play, Shubh Sharma remained unbeaten on 95, while Kaunen Qureshi was not out on 76.
Bihar’s Bowling Efforts
For Bihar, Suraj Kashyap and Manish Kumar claimed two wickets each, while Akash Raj and Suman Kumar picked up one wicket apiece.
Jharkhand’s batsmen displayed a blend of patience and aggression, allowing them to establish a strong first-innings advantage. Bihar’s bowlers now face the challenge of limiting Jharkhand’s lead by striking early on the third day.
