Ranchi: The All India Open Invitational Karate Championship, hosted by Sikokai Karate Do International Jharkhand and under the aegis of Sikokai Karate Do International India, began on Saturday.
On the opening day, players from Jharkhand took the lead with five gold, three bronze and two silver medals. Odisha were at the second position and Bengal at the third position.
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by Sikokai Karate Do International India general secretary Sanjeev Jangra and Padmashree Mukund Nayak by conducting a fight between two players.
