Patna: On the strength of its bowlers, Jehanabad scored a hat-trick of victory by defeating Siwan by 8 wickets in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament.

Siwan won the toss and batted first and scored 87 runs losing all the wickets in 27.5 overs. In reply, Jehanabad won the match by scoring 90 runs for two wickets in 16.3 overs.

In this Pool A match played at the local Moinul Haq Stadium, Siwan won the toss and decided to bat first. The entire top batting order of Siwan team including opener Pawan Kumar Rai, who played a brilliant unbeaten inning of 174 against Vaishali, failed. Pawan Kumar Rai scored only 2 runs, opener Sonu Kumar Gupta also returned to the pavilion after scoring 2 runs. After this, the three batsmen Abul Farah, Imran Nazri and Tariku Jamil failed to open their account.

After this, Navneet Kumar Singh, Faheem Anwar Haider Ali and Shabbir Khan played with some patience and somehow Siwan’s score reached 87 runs. The entire team of Siwan was all out for 87 runs in 27.5 overs. Navneet Kumar Singh scored 13, Faheem Anwar scored 10, Haider Ali scored 24 not out and Shabbir Khan scored 22 runs. Extras constributed 10 runs.

For Jehanabad, Shashi Shekhar, Aditya Prakash, Suraj Rathore and Gautam Bhagwat took two wickets each. Raju Yadav got 1 wicket. 1 player run out.

In reply, Jehanabad won the match by scoring 90 runs for two wickets in 16.3 overs. Santosh Kumar scored 15, Dishant Mishra scored 5, Rishabh Ranjan scored 41 not out and Trinav Kumar scored 22 not out.

For Siwan, Shabbir Khan and Tariku Jamil took 1 wicket each.
