Patna: Jamui defeated Bhojpur by 8 wickets to enter the final of the Randhir Verma Under-19 One Day Trophy 2024–25, organised by the Bihar Cricket Association, at Moinul Haq Stadium here on Saturday. Jamui, after winning the toss, opted to bowl first and delivered an impressive performance.
Bhojpur, batting first, scored 186 runs for 10 wickets in 50 overs. Prithviraj Singh scored 13, Amar Bhagwan Kumar scored 36, Priyanshu Subhash Kumar scored 14, Shivam Sujeet Singh scored 19, Shivam Sanjay Singh scored 18, and Mohit Jaykumar scored 29 runs.
For Jamui, captain Aman Kumar Singh took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 10 overs including 2 maidens, Arman Abhay Kumar claimed 2 wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs, Sachin Kumar Bhardwaj bagged 2 wickets for 24 runs with 3 maidens, and Arya Vinod Raj took 3 wickets for 56 runs in 10 overs, including one maiden.
Jamui chased the target in 30.4 overs, scoring 192 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Mohammad Shamshad Taufiq smashed 67 runs off 24 balls, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes. Sachin Kumar Bhardwaj remained unbeaten with 73 runs off 93 balls, including 11 fours, and Mohit Dinesh Sharma remained not out with 42 runs off 58 balls, hitting 3 fours and 1 six.
For Bhojpur, Shivam Sujeet Singh took 1 wicket for 50 runs in 8 overs, including 1 maiden, while Sunni Dharmendra Singh claimed 1 wicket for 49 runs in 7 overs.
The final match of the tournament will be played on Sunday at 9:00 am between Patna and Jamui at Moinul Haq Stadium, Patna.
