Incorporate sports and yoga in students’ daily routine, says Kiran Kumari

Patna, July 23: “School principal and teachers should include sports and yoga in the daily routine of the students,” said Bihar Education Project Council’s additional project director Kiran Kumari at the closing function of the fifth batch of special training programme of physical education teachers here on Saturday. The training camp was organized by Bihar Education Project Council in collaboration with UNICEF.

Kiran Kumari, who was the chief guest at the closing function, said that sports and yoga play an important role in making children school friendly and healthy. She said that the number of physical education teachers is very less as compared to secondary and higher secondary schools in the state. In such a situation, it is also the responsibility of the school principals and all the teachers of other subjects to try to include sports and yoga in the daily routine of the students so that there is all round development of the students. She also gave away the certificates to the trainees.

At the end of the training program, a presentation prepared on his own experiences, “Healthy Life: Who Doesn’t Want It” was presented by Deepak Kumar Singh, additional chief secretary, education department. In which it was told that with our disciplined lifestyle and routine, we all can avoid various types of diseases and have a healthy life.

Coach of the training programme Abhishek Kumar, a NIS athletics coach cum physical education teacher of  Bapu Smarak Mahila High School anchored the programme  and welcomed the guests.

As many as 50 physical education teachers from secondary and higher secondary schools of Nalanda, Nawada, Rohtas, Patna, Supaul, Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Siwan districts participated in the training of the fifth batch, which held from July 21 to 27.
