Bhagalpur: Taking together five parliamentary constituencies of Bihar namely Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur and Banka where voting was held in second phase of polling on Friday this week, polling recorded drop of 4.34 % compared to polling percentage of 2019 parliamentary election.
As per information provided in press release of state election department the total polling percentage of aforesaid five constituencies were 62.92 in 2019 while percentage of polling was 58.58 in current election.
Of the five constituencies the Bhagalpur parliamentary constituency predominantly constituted by urban area registered maximum drop of 6.17% this time compared to previous general election.
In Bhagalpur constituency while polling percentage was 51.00 this time it was 57.17 in last parliamentary election. Followed by Bhagalpur constituency the drop of polling percentage was maximum in Purnia parliamentary constituency also having sizeable urban area.
The polling percentage in Purnia parliamentary seat was 65.37 in 2019 election. With polling percentage of 59.94, a drop of 5.43 polling percentage was recorded in the constituency this time compared to previous parliamentary election.
In Katihar parliamentary seat 2.35% drop of polling was recorded this time compared to previous parliamentary election. While polling percentage was 67.62 in last election, the percentage of polling was 64.60 this time.
The drop of polling percentage was 4.60 in Banka parliamentary constituency compared to 2019 parliamentary election. Compared to 58.60 polling percentage registered in last parliamentary election the polling percentage stood at 54.00 this time.
Minimum drop of 2.35 polling percentage was recorded in Kishanganj parliamentary constituency. While percentage of polling was 66.35 in 2019 the constituency recorded 64.00 polling percentage this time.
In constituencies of state where polling was held yesterday the total number of general voters was 9396298 including 4881437 male voters, 4514555 female voters 306 third gender voters.
