PATNA, July 29: Bihar industry minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday said young entrepreneurs would get Rs 10 lakh for 10 years without interest to start their business under the new start-up policy of the state.
Launching the Bihar Start-up Policy 2022 and the start-up portal, Hussain called upon the young entrepreneurs take advantage of a variety of incentives to start their business and promote innovations.
“Necessary provisions have been made under the Start-up Policy 2022 for those who need guidance, training or marketing help to ensure their success even after the fiscal support,” he said.
The minister said the MSME sector was developing at a fast pace in Bihar. “Along with ensuring the growth of MSMEs, the goal of making the state a start-up capital was also on top in our priority list,” he said.
“We have set many goals for industrialisation of Bihar. These include establishment of large industries, giving wide exposure to MSMEs, strengthening the traditional handloom, handicraft, khadi and cottage village industries. We are also aiming to create an enabling ecosystem and providing workspace for people to start businesses,” Hussain added.
Workspace for start-ups were being constructed in Maurya Lok Complex and BSFC Building, Fraser Road, he said.
The industry minister said special provisions had also been made in the start-up policy to promote women entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Hussain said the contribution of start-ups in the country’s economy was increasing continuously. Realising its importance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken every step to encourage start-ups in the last eight years, he added.
He said it was the resolve of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that young entrepreneurs in Bihar should get new opportunities to move forward and his department was working in this direction.
Hussain said the young entrepreneurs could now register on Bihar Start-up Portal, https://startup.indbih.com, to avail the incentives under the Bihar Start-up Policy 2022.
Industry director director Pankaj Dixit, technical director Sanjeev Kumar and special secretary Dilip Kumar were also present during the launch of Bihar Start-up Policy 2022.
