Hindustani Awam Morcha Gears Up for Bihar Assembly Elections with Populist Proposals

Patna: As Bihar approaches its 2025 assembly elections, regional political parties have begun strategising. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) held its national executive meeting in New Delhi on Monday, where several significant proposals were passed with a focus on wooing middle-class families and unemployed youth.

Proposals to Benefit Middle-Class Families and Unemployed Youth

The HAM party announced several initiatives, including the provision of 200 units of free electricity for middle-class households and a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹5,000. The party also proposed enhancing pensions in Bihar to a minimum of ₹2,000 and urged the government to implement an affordable health insurance policy for middle-class families.

Nine Key Proposals Passed in the HAM National Executive Meeting

  1. Installation of a colossal statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Deeksha Bhoomi, Nagpur, modelled after the Statue of Unity.
  2. Renaming of Delhi roads after freedom fighters and eminent personalities.
  3. Introduction of a cost-effective health insurance scheme for the middle class.
  4. Raising all types of pensions in Bihar to a minimum of ₹2,000.
  5. Provision of 200 units of free domestic electricity and free irrigation electricity for farmers owning up to 5 acres of land.
  6. Full government employment status for workers such as Jeevika Didis, Mamta Didis, ASHA workers, and cooks.
  7. A monthly unemployment allowance of ₹5,000 for jobless youth.
  8. Launch of the Mata Sabri Samman Yojana to benefit daughters from all social classes.
  9. Initiatives aimed at pressuring the Bihar government to regularise contract workers.

HAM Leadership and Commitment

The meeting, presided over by Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi at the Constitution Club of India, witnessed participation from prominent leaders, including the party’s national president and Bihar government minister Dr Santosh Kumar Suman, Barachatti MLA Jyoti Devi, and other key officials.

HAM’s Election Agenda

Speaking about the party’s preparations, HAM’s chief state spokesperson Vijay Yadav highlighted their focus on the poor and middle-class families. “We want middle-class households to receive 200 units of free electricity and unemployed youth to be given ₹5,000 monthly as an allowance,” he stated.

With these proposals, Hindustani Awam Morcha is aiming to consolidate its support base and challenge the ruling government in the upcoming assembly elections.
