Haryana Triumph Over Bihar by Nine Wickets in Senior Women’s One Day Trophy

Patna: Haryana defeated Bihar by nine wickets in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy at the Air Force Complex Ground, New Delhi. Bihar, opting to bat first after winning the toss, managed 103 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. In response, Haryana chased the target comfortably, scoring 108 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 16.3 overs. Diya Yadav of Haryana was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance. With this victory, Haryana earned the full four points.

Bihar’s innings saw contributions from Vishalakshi, who scored 20 runs off 62 balls with two fours, and Harshita, who added 26 runs off 41 balls with three fours. Other batters, including Preeti (15 runs in 48 balls, two fours) and Apoorva Kumari (14 runs in 33 balls, two fours), also chipped in. However, the team struggled to build momentum, with Arya Seth dismissed for 0, Yashita Singh scoring 2, Captain Pragati Singh adding 9, and Bhaavya contributing just 1 run. Rachna Singh remained unbeaten on 5, while Apoorva and Preeti Kumari added 1 run each.

For Haryana, Sheetal Rana led the bowling attack with figures of 3 wickets for 13 runs. Suman Gulia claimed 2 wickets for 20 runs, while Ragini Lathwal, Triveni Vashisht, and Sonia Mendhiya took one wicket each, conceding 24, 9, and 26 runs, respectively.

In reply, Haryana’s batting was spearheaded by Diya Yadav, who remained unbeaten on 52, and Reema Sisodia, who scored an unbeaten 45. Shefali Verma contributed 8 runs to the team’s tally. Bihar’s sole wicket came through Rachna Singh, who conceded 17 runs.

Bihar will next face Saurashtra on 8 December in their upcoming match.
