Goa and Uttaranchal get third place
Patna: Haryana once again won the title of 33rd National Sub Junior Girls Kabaddi Championship. In a tough match, Haryana defeated Rajasthan 35-33 in the championship final, which took place on Wednesday in the indoor hall of the local Pataliputra Sports Complex.
The final match of this championship, hosted by the Bihar State Kabaddi Association under the banner of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, was played between Haryana and Rajasthan. From the start of the match, there was a struggle between the two teams to score points. The Haryana team was ahead 20–13 in the first half. In the second half, the Rajasthan team made a comeback, and at one point the match was tied at 30-30, but playing wisely, Haryana finally won the match by 35-33.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Haryana defeated Goa 31-24, while Rajasthan defeated Uttarakhand 52-33 to get the ticket for the final.
The teams from Goa and Uttarakhand finished third.
Principal Secretary of Sports Department, Dr B Rajender, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority Raveendran Sankaran, Pankaj Kumar Raj, Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority and international Kabaddi players Priyanka Pilniya and Pooja inaugurated the final match as well as gave away the prizes.
On this occasion, the Principal Secretary of the Sports Department, Dr B Rajender said that you all played well. You people are the future of the country, and in the coming days, you too will play at the international level.
Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, Raveendran Sankaran, said that Bihar is becoming a sports hub, and in the coming days, big competitions will be held here, and the local players will also raise the name of Bihar at the international level.
International Kabaddi player Priyanka Pilniya said that all of you players should work very hard. There is no other way to move forward except through hard work. Remembering Janardan Singh Gehlot, she said that he has promoted Kabaddi not only in India but in the whole world. She appealed to the people associated with Kabaddi to maintain this respect and take it further.
Welcoming everyone, Bihar State Kabaddi Association Secretary Kumar Vijay Singh said that we are thankful to all of you for coming here. He said that sports are developing rapidly in Bihar. The entire credit for this goes to the coordination between the officials of various associations, the Sports Department and the Bihar State Sports Authority. Everyone is working together to take it forward.
Kumar Vijay Singh honoured all the guests by gifting them bouquets, memntos and shawls. The Principal Secretary of Sports Department, Dr B Rajender, Raveendran Sankaran honoured international Kabaddi players Priyanka Pilniya, Pooja, Rajeev Kumar Singh of Bihar, and Shama Parveen.
On this occasion, the technical officials and others who made this championship successful were also honoured by the association. The stage was anchored by Arun Kumar, Secretary of Madhepura District Kabaddi Association.
