Patna: Haryana defeated Bihar by seven wickets in the Under-23 Men’s State A Trophy match in Bangalore on Saturday. Due to the overage of Alok Kumar, a member of the 15-member team announced on October 23 for this series, and the team’s fast bowler Amod Yadav not getting clearance from the BCCI due to technical reasons, players from the reserved list, Anuj Raj and Manik Sharma, were included in the team.
Haryana won the toss and decided to field first. Playing first, Bihar team scored 119 runs losing all the wickets in 34 overs. Ayush Loharuka scored 46 and captain Akash Raj scored 34, while Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out for a duck in his first match for Under-23. Kumar Shrey scored 2, Shlok made 2, Harshit Anand scored 6 runs.
For Haryana, Anuj Thakral took 5 wickets, Lakshya Sangwan and Nishant Sindhu took 2 wickets each and Parth Vats took 1 wicket.
Chasing 120 runs to win, Haryana won the match by scoring 121 runs for three wickets in 13 overs. For Haryana, Mayank Shandilya scored 9, Yuvraj Singh 3, Kunal Singh 77 not out, Nishant Sindhu 7, Vipul Kumar scored 6 not out. For Bihar, Saqib Hussain took two wickets and Aditya took one wicket.
