Patna: Kumar Harshit won the men’s singles title of Braj Deo Prasad 69th Bihar State Inter-District Table Tennis Championship defeating Amit Kumar 4-1 in the final at Bihar Young Men’s Institute here on Friday.
Kumar Harshit defeated Saikat Das 3-0 in the junior boys’ singles final. With this Kumar Harshit claimed a grand double in the state championships.
Later, in the final of the team championship, Patna A team defeated Patna B team 3-2. The Patna A team comprises Kishan Raj, Kumar Harshit, Amit Kumar and Rahul Kumar from the Accountant General’s Office. The Patna B team comprise Piyush D Gandhi from Bihar Secretariat, Somnath Roy, Yogesh Mathuri and Saikat Das from Bihar Secretariat. In this way Kumar Harshit won a grand treble.
Chief guest Dr Himanshu Rai gave away the prizes. Bihar Table Tennis Association secretary Rajeev Ratan Singh, former secretary Mukesh Rai, vice president KM Sinha, former state champion Dilip Gandhi, Banarsi Prasad, Manoj Kumar (treasurer), Prem Kumar, Atanu Chatterjee, Moushumi Chatterjee, Chulbul Das, Rahul Das, Pankaj Pandey, Anoop Ghosh and other many dignitaries were present on the occasion.
