Patna: Throwball Association of Gopalganj and Shining Souls Trust under the banner of Throwball Federation of India and Throwball Association of Bihar will host the 44th Senior National (Women and Men) Throwball Championship at Smart Move Academy Sports Ground, Panchdeori block of Gopalganj district from March 25 to March 28, 2023. The inauguration of the tournament will be spectacular, claimed the organisers.
Giving information about the opening ceremony to be held on March 25, organising chairman Manish Kumar Srivastava (Panchdeori Block Development Officer) said a grand opening ceremony will be held at the venue at 11 am. There will be an impressive march past on the opening ceremony. A cultural program will be presented by the boys and girls of the school. People’s representatives and dignitaries of the administration will be present at the inauguration ceremony.
Organising secretary Rahul Sinha said that the centre of attraction of the opening ceremony would be a rally. The rally will march from Panchdeori Block to Smart Move Academy. Elephants, horses and camels and bands will accompany the rally. A chariot will also be there with a big statue of Lord Buddha. He said that this place is adjacent to Kushinagar, an important place for Buddhism.
Founder secretary of Throwball Association of Bihar Neeraj Kumar Pappu said that for the first time throwball matches will be organized on mats. He said that matches will be played on four courts, of which two courts will be mats. He said that this experiment is being done for the upcoming Throwball Premier League.
