Patna: In the matches played on the second day of the first Straight Drive Invitational Women’s Cricket Tournament, recognised by the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), Team Godavari defeated Team Narmada by 63 runs and Team Ganga beat Team Kaveri by 14 runs.
Komal of Team Godavari was given the player of the match award by Premnath Khanna, vice president of Straight Drive and Pragati of Team Godavari was given the player of the match award by former Ranji cricketer Ashok Kumar.
Godvari won the toss and scored 120 runs, losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Godvari, Khushbu scored 36, Komal scored 40 and Apoorva scored 22 runs. For Narmada, Dolly took one wicket and Shikha took 3 wickets. In reply, Team Narmada’s batters faltered as the team was all out for for 57 runs in just 16.2 overs. Shikha scored 20 runs for Narmada. Godavari’s Priya and Arpana took three wickets each. Nipu took two wickets.
Team Kaveri won the toss and invited Team Ganga to bat first. Batting first, Team Ganga scored 126 runs losing three wickets in 22 overs thanks to Sana’s brilliant half-century (51 runs) and Pragati’s unbeaten 45 runs.
Chasing the target, Team Kaveri collapsed for 112 runs in 21.4 overs. Roopa (44 not out) was the top scorer.
