Gaya to host All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Championship from June 27

Patna: Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior Under-13 Ranking Badminton Championship organized by Bihar Badminton Association under the aegis of Badminton Association of India is going to be held in Gaya, Bihar in collaboration with Gaya District Badminton Association. This information was given by KN Jaiswal, General Secretary of Badminton Association of Bihar.

He said that Bihar, which has successfully hosted 20 All India Ranking Tournaments and 7 National Championships so far, is hosting the first championship of the calendar year for the eighth time. This championship is being organized from June 27 to July 2 with the aim of developing Gaya region after Patna, Bhagalpur on the national platform of badminton.

The matches of the championship will be played on eight courts of Lord Buddha Badminton Academy located on the premises of Delhi Public School, Gaya and three courts of Gandhi Maidan Indoor Badminton Hall.

BAI has confirmed the receipt of entries of more than 500 shuttlers from across the country. All these events will be conducted under the supervision of Tamil Nadu’s T Vinesh, a referee nominated by the Badminton Association of India.

All preparations for the successful conduct of the championship are in the final stages. The qualifying rounds of the championship will be played on June 27 and June 28 June while the main match will be played from June 29 to July 2.

In this prize money championship of Rs 3 lakh, the winner of the singles competition of boys and girls will get Rs 36,000, the runner-up will get Rs 18,000 and the semi-finalist will receive Rs 14,000, while the winner of the doubles event will get a cash prize of Rs 38,000, the runner-up will get Rs 18,000 and the semi-finalist will get Rs 14,000.
