Daegu, South Korea: Global IT firm FPT Software recently announced the opening of its 82nd global office in the city of Daegu, marking a significant milestone in its strategic expansion within the vibrant economic landscape of South Korea.

Located strategically at the Daegu Bank building in the Buk-gu district, the new office enables FPT Software to better serve existing clients, particularly in the financial sector, including DGB Financial Group and IM Bank, while also targeting a broader customer base in the Daegu and Busan regions.

The Korean branch of FPT Software sets an immediate goal to establish an Offshore Development Center to strengthen cooperation with Daegu Bank in IT infrastructure development. Moreover, the company will continue to expand its footprint in the automotive, banking, and finance segments in the region, serving as a nearshore hub for neighbouring areas such as Daejon and Kumi.

In the next five years, the Daegu office aims to expand its workforce to 1,000 employees and become the leading technology hub in the Southern region of South Korea.

According to CEO of FPT Software Korea, Ha Minh Tuan, Daegu is known as the hometown of tech giant Samsung and South Korea’s economic nexus with over 6,000 large and small manufacturing enterprises, almost half of which are dedicated to operations engineering, machinery manufacturing, and semiconductor production.

“Daegu symbolizes innovation and industry leadership. Similar to Samsung’s remarkable success here, I believe that this city will be the catalyst for FPT Software Korea’s remarkable growth in the upcoming years. By leveraging Daegu’s favourable conditions and dynamic ecosystem, FPT Software Korea is poised to elevate its service offerings and expand its footprint across South Korea,” he added.

Setting its first footprint in Korea in 2016, FPT Software has established three offices in Seoul and Daegu with over 200 dedicated experts in South Korea and more than 1,700 onshore engineers, providing IT services to customers across diverse industries, including LG Electronics, LG CNS, DGB, Shinhan Bank, and Shinsegae I&C.
