Patna: Indian rugby team has been announced for the Asian Under-19 Rugby Championship to be held in Kathmandu from December 10 to 11. Four girls and for boys’ players from Bihar have been selected in the Indian rugby team.
The training camp of the Indian team was held at Balebari Stadium, Pune from November 8 to December 6. Thirty boys and 30 girls from all over India participated in this training camp. Aarti Kumari, Sapna Kumari, Dharamshila Kumari and Archana Kumari have been selected in the girls’ category from Bihar, while Armaan Alam, Harsh Raj, Saurabh Kumar and Raju Kumar have been selected in the boys’ category. Armaan Alam will lead the Under-19 Indian team. This is a big achievement for Bihar. Ten countries are participating in this championship.
Shravan Kumar (Bihar Minister for Rural Development), Jitendra Rai (Bihar Minister for Art Culture and Youth Department), Sanjay Mayukh (Legislative Council Member and president Rugby Football Association of Bihar), Bandana Preyashi, Secretary Art Culture and Youth Department, Vinod Singh Gunjiyal Director, Art Culture and Youth Department, Raveendran Sankaran Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, Pankaj Raj Director cum Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority, Shirshat Kapil Ashok , District Magistrate East Champaran, and Pankaj Kumar Jyoti, Secretary of Rugby Football Association of Bihar congratulated all the selected players.
