Muzaffarpur: East Champaran crushed Sheohar 11-0 in the Moinul Haq Cup 71st Bihar State Inter-District Football Championship at LS College ground here on Friday. With this win East Champaran emerged pool champion and enter the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Earlier, the match was inagurated jointly by Prasenjit Mehta, President, Bihar Football Association, Ashwani Khatri, President, MFA, Asgar Hussain, Chairman,MFA, Guddu Kumar Singh, Executive Secretary, MFA and Chandan Kumar. They were also introduced to the players.
East Champaran team was leading by 6 goals to nil at the half time. In the first half, the first goal of the match for East Champaran team was scored by Vinod in the 4th minute, followed by Irshad in the 11th, 29th, 31st and 46th minutes and Sheel Alam in the 35th minute. In the second half, East Champaran’s Sumit Yadav scored in the 58th, 78th, 85th minutes and Sohail in the 86th minute and 89th minutes of the game.
East Champaran district football team won by 11 goals. Arun Hansda (Patna), Tarun Kumar (Samastipur), Arun Hansda (Patna), Santosh Pandey (Buxar), Shashi Kumar Suman (Patna) were the judges for the match.
