Patna: In memory of the former Vice-Chancellor of Magadh University and renowned geographer, the late Dr Parmeshwar Dayal, the Dr Parmeshwar Dayal Memorial Under-13 Inter-School Cricket Tournament will be held from September 23 at the Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) ground, located within Moinul Haq Stadium. This announcement was made by the Director of the Cricket Academy of Bihar and former captain of the Indian youth cricket team, Amikar Dayal.
Dayal mentioned that school, academy, and institutional teams would compete in the tournament, which will follow a knockout format. Only 24 teams will be permitted to participate, and the matches will be officiated by a designated umpire panel. The organising committee will provide refreshments and cold drinks for the players. The matches will be played in a 25-over format, with two matches scheduled each day.
Santosh Tiwari has been appointed as the organising secretary to ensure the smooth running of the tournament. In addition to the prestigious trophy, the winning and runner-up teams will receive individual prizes. Daily ‘Man of the Match’ awards will be presented, along with several other accolades, including Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Best Fielder. Promising emerging players will also be recognised.
To participate, players must present their birth certificate and Aadhaar card for age verification before each match.
