Dony Polo Public School Post Second Consecutive Win to Enter Super Semi-Finals of Sukhdev Narayan Memorial Cricket Tournament

Patna: Dony Polo Public School registered their second consecutive win in the All India Sukhdeo Narain Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament, advancing to the Super Semi-Final from Pool A. Earlier, Gravity High School entered the Super Semi-Final from Pool B.

The tournament is being held at Jagjivan Stadium, Khagaul. On Tuesday, 22nd October, Dony Polo Public School defeated New BD Public School by 124 runs, while Raj Shiksha Niketan triumphed over Divine Valley International School by 99 runs in another match.

Dony Polo Public School’s Dominant Victory

Dony Polo Public School convincingly defeated New BD Public School by 124 runs, marking their second win of the tournament. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Dony Polo posted a total of 190 for 9 in 20 overs. Piyush starred with 63 runs off 42 balls, including 9 fours and 1 six, while Anmol contributed 47 runs from 36 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. For New BD Public School, Piyush was the standout bowler, taking 4 wickets for 46 runs.

In response, New BD Public School struggled against the excellent bowling of Hrithik Seth, who took 4 wickets, and were bowled out for 66 runs in 17.2 overs. Arman Ahmed was the only notable contributor with 43 runs from 45 balls, hitting 7 fours and 1 six. Hrithik Seth was named Player of the Match and was presented with the award by former Sukhdeo Cricket player Amitabh Palit.

Raj Shiksha Niketan Victorious

In the second match, Raj Shiksha Niketan won the toss and posted 189 for 5 in 20 overs, led by Rahul Yadav’s impressive knock of 59 runs. In reply, Divine Valley International School were bowled out for 90 runs in 19.3 overs. Rahul Yadav was named Player of the Match, receiving the award from Danapur Railway Sports Officer Vikas Ranjan.

Tournament Structure and Upcoming Matches

Organising Secretary Bijoy Kumar Narain Chunnu explained that six teams entered the league stage, divided into two pools. Dony Polo Public School progressed from Pool A, while Gravity High School advanced from Pool B. The Super Semi-Finals will commence on Wednesday, 23rd October, with SDV Public School and Bihar Cambridge Public School having received direct entries.
