Bhagalpur: Dispute during playing cricket led to the murder of one Md Sunny, a youth, last evening in Karori Bazar area of city last evening. The victim was shot dead while he was taking evening walk near his house. Md Sunny who suffered grievous injury in firing was rushed to local medical college hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The victim a hawker used to earn livelihood selling saris door to door. In course of playing cricket in his locality a few days back he was involved in heated exchange with one Dilshad alias DJ, a resident of Chamelichak locality.
The heated exchanges subsequently lead to brawl in which DJ was thrashed by victim and his friends. However dispute of cricket field was amicably sorted out following intervention of family members of Md Sunny and DJ. After murder of victim his family members alleged though everything between Md Sunny and DJ had been settled peacefully however later shot dead former to take revenge.
The allegation of family members of victim is yet to be substantiated. Police has started scanning footage of CCTV camera in a bid to identify the culprit.
Meanwhile police has succeeded in registering a major breakthrough in case related to murder of Amrendra Kumar Singh, a land dealer in Suryalok Colony of city on September 20.
On basis of CCTV footage, technical investigation and evidences two unnamed accused Rajesh Kumar alias Rinku besides Vivekanand alias Disco have been arrested.
Bhagalpur City SP Swarn Prabhat briefing media persons yesterday about developments in investigation concerning the case, said from confessional statement of those arrested besides CCTV footage and technical evidences, apart from five people named accused in FIR involvement of three other person in crime has come to light.
Taking together two person who have been arrested total 10 person were involved in the crime, City SP informed. He added involvement of representative of a ward councilor has been revealed in confessional statement. City SP said in confessional statement it has been further revealed that two vehicles namely a Scorpio car and an Eretiga car were used in execution of the murder plan.
The confessional statement regarding use of vehicles has been corroborated through CCTV footage, he informed. City SP added crime was committed because of old enmity and also for purpose of dominance. The land dealer it may be mentioned was shot dead near his house while he was returning home on a bike after meeting a person.
