Dilip Jaiswal Officially Declared Bihar BJP State President at Party Council Meeting

By Vishwapati
Patna: Dilip Jaiswal was formally declared the new state president of the Bihar BJP today during the BJP State Council meeting held at the Bapu Auditorium in Patna. The significant announcement was made by the party’s central in-charge and Union Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar. The event was attended by a large number of senior BJP leaders and workers.

Among those present were Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary, Union Ministers Giriraj Singh and Nityanand Rai, MPs Radha Mohan Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad, former state president Sanjay Jaiswal, state in-charge Vinod Tawde, co-in-charge Deepak Prakash, and numerous other senior leaders. Additionally, approximately 15,000 workers from the state and division levels participated in the meeting.

Priority to Workers in BJP

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha emphasised the importance of party workers during the event. He stated that the BJP did not become the world’s largest party solely based on numbers but through the energy and dedication of its workers. He remarked, “No worker is the first or the last in the BJP. This party does not operate on familial ties but on the hard work of its workers. Every BJP worker is as valuable as a Tulsi leaf.”

The Appointment Process of Dilip Jaiswal

Dilip Jaiswal was initially appointed as the state president in July 2024, following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, replacing Samrat Chaudhary. However, prior to the formal organisational election, Jaiswal resigned from his position as Revenue and Land Reforms Minister of the Bihar Government on 27th February.

The process of his formal appointment began on Monday when he submitted his nomination papers to the party’s election officer and state general secretary, Rajesh Verma. His nomination was supported by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, Minister Mangal Pandey, and MLC Sanjay Mayukh. Following the completion of the election process, Jaiswal was declared the state president for the term 2025–2027.

BJP Appoints 55 Organisational District Presidents Across 38 Districts

Prior to the announcement of the state president, the BJP released a list of 55 organisational district presidents across 38 districts in Bihar. The list reflects an attempt to maintain social balance, with 45% of the district presidents belonging to the upper caste community, including Brahmins, Bhumihars, Rajputs, and Kayasthas. The Kushwaha community has been given significant representation, with 10 district presidents appointed from the Koiri and Kurmi communities. Additionally, 20% of the district presidents are from backward classes, including the Yadav community. Leaders from extremely backward classes, such as Mallah, Halwai, Kanu, and Bhagat castes, have also been included. Notably, no representation has been given to the Muslim community in the organisational structure.

BJP’s Organisational Expansion and Future Strategy

The BJP has appointed new district presidents across all districts in the state to strengthen its organisational framework. The party has already begun preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. By maintaining social balance and providing representation to backward and extremely backward classes, the BJP aims to garner widespread public support.

With Dilip Jaiswal’s appointment as the new state president, the BJP has taken a significant step towards consolidating its organisational strength in Bihar. This decision introduces new leadership that will focus on bolstering the party’s position ahead of the assembly elections. The appointment of district presidents also underscores the party’s strategy to maintain social and regional balance. It remains to be seen how effectively this new leadership team will enhance the BJP’s political standing in Bihar. Preparations for the assembly elections are already underway, with the party striving to secure broad-based support through inclusive representation.
