Delhi Election Results May Trigger Political Upheaval in Bihar, Claims RJD

By Vishwapati

Patna: Ahead of the Delhi election results, Bihar political landscape is witnessing a stir. Various sources within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have begun speculating on the potential impact of the results on Bihar’s politics. On Thursday, the RJD asserted that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secures victory in Delhi, its ramifications will be felt in Bihar as well. According to the party, the BJP may attempt to destabilise the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] and install its own Chief Minister in the state.

RJD sources claim that the BJP has already devised a strategy to weaken the JD(U). Should the BJP form the government in Delhi, political manoeuvring in Bihar is expected to escalate. Allegedly, the BJP is contemplating replacing Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister in favour of a leader from its own ranks. The RJD further stated that the BJP has systematically weakened its allies in various states, and a similar approach could be adopted in Bihar.

Nitish Kumar, an astute politician, is reportedly aware of the BJP’s intentions. The RJD believes that the BJP will attempt to engineer a split within the JD(U) by exerting pressure, ultimately aiming to establish its own government in Bihar. On Thursday, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari remarked that the Delhi election results could significantly impact the BJP-JD(U) alliance. If the BJP secures victory in Delhi, it may seek to consolidate its dominance in Bihar. He claimed that the BJP is already working towards weakening the JD(U) to strengthen its own position in the state.

With Bihar’s Assembly elections scheduled in the next ten months, Tiwari asserted that the BJP is keen to fortify its standing ahead of the polls. He further alleged that a blueprint to eliminate the JD(U) has already been drawn up and would be executed if the BJP secures power in Delhi.

Following the conclusion of the Delhi elections, exit poll figures have been released, with most surveys indicating a BJP victory. If the BJP forms the government, political turbulence in Bihar appears inevitable. Mrityunjay Tiwari’s statement underscores the heightened vigilance among Bihar’s political parties regarding the Delhi election results. He maintains that a BJP-led government in Delhi could spell trouble for the JD(U) in Bihar. With elections fast approaching, political activity in the state is expected to intensify further.
