Patna: Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan, will contest Lok Sabha election from Hajipur seat of Bihar. LJP (Ram Vilas) has so far settled on a candidate for one seat. However, candidates for the remaining four seats have not yet been announced.

Chirag Paswan said on Wednesday that candidates for other seats would be named within a day or two. Regarding uncle Pashupati Paras, Chirag Paswan stated that it is up to him whether or not to remain with the NDA.

“He must determine if he will be a barrier to PM Narendra Modi gaining more than 400 seats or not. Because Pashupati Paras has stated that he will remain with PM Modi until his last breath,” he remarked.

Chirag stated that if his uncle contests elections from Hajipur, he is prepared to face any challenge. LJP (Ram Vilas) convened its parliamentary board meeting on Wednesday. Chirag Paswan’s decision to run for election in Hajipur was confirmed.

However, no consensus was achieved at Wednesday’s meeting on who will run for the Jamui, Vaishali, Khagaria and one more seats. Chirag told the media that the names of candidates for the other four seats would be announced within a day or two.

In the NDA seat distribution for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Chirag Paswan’s LJP faction received five seats, while his uncle Pashupati Paras’s RLJP group received none. Paras became enraged and resigned from the position of Union Minister.

However, he is yet to announce his next action. He is expected to depart the NDA and contest the election as part of the Grand Alliance or on his own. Paras has also scheduled a meeting of the RLJP Parliamentary Board for Wednesday, during which he will be able to make a major decision.
