Patna: Chandigarh delivered a dominant performance, defeating Bihar by a massive margin of 155 runs in the Women’s Under-23 ODI Trophy match held at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur, on Friday.
After winning the toss, Chandigarh opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 236 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Aradhana D. Bisht was the standout performer, scoring a magnificent 110 runs off 113 balls, including 12 fours and 1 six. She was well-supported by Sarah, who contributed a solid 77 runs off 123 balls, featuring 10 fours. The rest of the batting line-up chipped in with smaller contributions to help Chandigarh reach their total.
For Bihar, Arya was the most effective bowler, claiming 2 wickets for 40 runs in her 10 overs. Tejaswi and Rachna also picked up a wicket each, conceding 44 and 37 runs respectively.
In response, Bihar’s batting line-up struggled significantly and were bowled out for a mere 81 runs in 38.1 overs. Preeti (10 runs), Shobhana (11 runs), Nikki (13 runs), and Tejaswi (15 runs) were the only batters to reach double figures, as the rest of the team failed to make an impact.
Chandigarh’s bowlers were in exceptional form, with Pushpa Bishnoi leading the charge. She bowled 10 overs, including 2 maidens, and took 4 wickets for just 18 runs. Nandani Sharma also impressed, claiming 3 wickets for 10 runs in her 10 overs, which included 3 maidens. Samaira, Ishana, and Aahan Vaidya contributed with 1 wicket each, ensuring Bihar’s innings never gained momentum.
